Last week, I had the privilege of attending Catholic Days at the Capitol -- a two-day event at the Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee. Part of a group of 40+ attendees from the Diocese of Palm Beach, we joined several hundred others who attended the event from all seven Florida dioceses, organized by the FCCB (Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops)
Meeting with State House and State Senate representatives, it occurred to me:
'Representatives' do what is popular. 'Leaders' do what is right!
We presented the Catholic viewpoint on four issues:
- + Unborn Victims of Violence
- + Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Education Program
- + KidCare Expansion for Legal Immigrant Children
- + Unanimous Jury Recommendation for a Death Sentence
